Jeffery L. Anderson, M.D. (SAB Chair) - Professor
of Medicine in Cardiology, well-known cardiac
researcher and cardiology instructor at the Univer-
sity of Utah. He is board certified in Internal
Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Clinical
Electrophysiology. He currently is president of the
Utah Chapter of the American Heart Association.
John Eikelboom, M.B.B.S – Associate professor
of Medicine (hematology) at McMaster University
with major areas of research in cardiovascular
therapeutics, mechanisms of Atherothrombosis,
prevention and treatment of venous thrombo-
embolism and systematic reviews and evidence-
based medicine.
Neal S. Kleiman, M.D. – Director of the Cardiac
Catheterization Laboratories at The Methodist
DeBakey Heart Center and The Methodist
Hospital Research Institute, as well as professor
of medicine at Cornell University. He has
published over 200 manuscripts, book chapters
and abstracts including his research in platelet
function, and he is on the editorial board of
several journals including Circulation and The
Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis.
J. Brent Muhlestein, M.D. – Director of Cardiology
Research at Intermoutain Healthcare and Professor
of Medicine at the University of Utah. Research
interests include new interventional technologies,
cardiovascular clinical outcomes, and evaluation
of possible underlying causes and novel risk
factors associated with the development and
progression of atherosclerosis.
Marvin J. Slepian, M.D. – Clinical Professor of
Medicine and Director of Interventional Cardiology
at The University of Arizona College of Medicine.
Active researcher with a focus on tissue engineer-
ing. He is currently certified in advanced inter-
ventional cardiology techniques including directional
and rotational Atherectomy, stenting and intravascular ultrasound. He was previously CEO of
SynCardia Systems, Inc.
